Gitare AB is produced by its namesake, Gitare, a washing station established in 1954 that belongs to the Kimaratia Farmers Co-operative Society. It’s uniquely embedded within a tea-growing zone, and sources its water from the nearby River Theta.
This coffee was air-freighted by Regalia a month after harvest to preserve its peak freshness. A beautiful representation of Kenyan coffee, this washed light-roast opens up beautifully with notes of pomegranate, dark chocolate–covered fig, plum, and lychee.

The fact that this coffee is grown in a tea-growing zone gives it a uniquely smooth, almost floral profile I haven't found elsewhere. Clean finish with no bitterness, even when I let it cool down a bit.

Been brewing this as my morning pour-over and the tea-growing region influence really comes through in a clean, almost floral finish. Definitely one of the more interesting single-origin coffees I've tried lately.

First sip and I immediately noticed the silky body, almost creamy but with a clean finish. Great for pour-over mornings when you want something smooth but still lively.

The bright, tea-like acidity in this coffee is truly unique—it’s like nothing else from the region. Brews up clean and complex, with a silky mouthfeel that lingers.

Brewed my first cup this morning and was surprised by how clean and bright it tasted—no bitterness at all. The tea region influence really comes through in the delicate body, making it perfect for a pour-over. Already looking forward to my next bag.
Olivia★★★★★
The floral aroma hit me right as I opened the bag, a nice surprise for a coffee. The roast is light enough to let those tea-growing region notes shine through, making each sip incredibly smooth. Already looking forward to my next cup tomorrow morning.

First brewed this yesterday and the tea-like floral notes really come through — totally unexpected for a coffee. The light body makes it perfect for afternoon cups without feeling heavy. Already ordered another bag.

I was skeptical about a coffee from a tea-growing region, but the floral notes in this one are unmistakable and balanced. It brews a clean cup without any bitterness, though I wish the bag were a bit larger for the price.

Not bad for a daily brew, but I wish the flavor profile was a bit more distinct—it’s a little flat compared to other Kenyan coffees I’ve tried. The fact it’s grown in a tea zone is interesting, but I didn’t notice any unique tea-like notes.

The beans are smaller than most single-origin coffees I've tried, and the roast is pretty light, which made dialing in my grinder a bit tricky. It's fine for a morning cup, but I prefer something with a bolder body.
