Category: Tea & Matcha

Gekkou, meaning moonlight, is a shade grown matcha with soft, blue-green tencha leaves. It was produced by the Nishide family, where three generations work side by side, and slowly stone-milled in-house. The result is a smooth, silky matcha with notes of chawanmushi (savory egg custard), almond cookie, and hazelnut praline.

Lucy ★★★★★

The blue-green tint of the powder is really striking, and it’s far smoother than any matcha I’ve had before. I whisked it this morning and got a rich, savory flavor with no bitterness at all.

The stone-grinding really makes a difference — the powder is impossibly fine and dissolves instantly with no clumps. I've been using it for morning lattes and the mellow sweetness means I don't need any sugar.

Madison ★★★★★

The stone-milling is a huge plus — you can tell it’s fresh because the powder is incredibly fine and dissolves without any clumps. I’ve been mixing it with hot water for a morning latte and the smooth, grassy taste is noticeably deeper than the usual stuff I get.
