Hambela Natural EA Decaf is an Ethiopian coffee from Broadsheet Coffee Roasters, sourced from the village of Boku in Guji, Ethiopia. It’s fruited, sweet, and surprisingly complex, with notes of crème brûlée, apple, and raspberry jam.

EA processing, done in Germany, strips away fewer naturally occurring oils than other decaffeination methods. The result? A maximally bright and fruity cup, minus the caffeine.

The crème brûlée note really comes through in the cup, making this decaf feel like a dessert. I was shocked how rich and fruity it is for a decaf—perfect for an afternoon treat without the jitters.

Pulled my first shot of this decaf and couldn't believe how the crème brûlée notes came through so clearly—it's sweet and fruity without any of that flatness you usually get. The natural process really keeps the complexity alive even after decaffeination.

Henry ★★★★★

Brewed a cup this morning and was genuinely surprised by how sweet and full-bodied it tastes for a decaf — that crème note really comes through. I’ve had trouble finding a decaf that doesn’t taste flat, but this one’s got real complexity.

Harper E. ★★★★★

I’ve been trying to find a decaf that doesn’t taste flat, and the crème note in this one is genuinely elegant—it’s almost like a dessert coffee. The natural process really preserves that fruity sweetness, making it surprisingly complex for a decaf.

Lucy W. ★★★★★

I’m not a morning caffeine person, but this decaf still gives me that rich, full-bodied coffee experience. The crème note is so smooth and unexpected, it almost tastes like a dessert. Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up without the jitters.

Miles ★★★★★

I was hesitant about decaf, but this Ethiopian coffee blew me away — the natural processing really shines through with a fruity sweetness that rivals any caffeinated pour-over I've made. It's complex enough to keep things interesting, yet smooth enough for an evening cup.

Andrew ★★★★★

Tasting notes on the bag mention crème, but I actually get a subtle stone fruit sweetness that's really nice. It has a clean finish and makes a surprisingly rich cup for a decaf.

Lucy U. ★★★★★

You know a decaf is good when it still tastes like a real coffee. This one’s got a surprising sweetness and that crème note really comes through in my morning pour-over.

Ava ★★★★☆

The fruited and sweet notes are really impressive for a decaf — the crème flavor comes through nicely in my morning cup. It’s a bit pricier than I’d usually spend, but for the complexity it delivers, I’m glad I gave it a try.

Julian ★★★★☆

I was skeptical of decaf until I tried this—the crème notes come through beautifully and it’s sweet enough to drink black. Only knocked a star because it’s a bit pricey for the size of the bag.
