Gekkou, was „Mondlicht“ bedeutet, ist ein im Schatten angebauter Matcha mit weichen, blaugrünen Tencha-Blättern. Hergestellt von der Familie Nishide, in der drei Generationen Seite an Seite arbeiten, und langsam im eigenen Haus auf Stein gemahlen. Das Ergebnis ist ein samtiger, seidiger Matcha mit Noten von Chawanmushi (herzhafter Eierpudding), Mandelkeksen und Haselnusspraline.
