Gekkou, che significa "chiaro di luna", è un matcha coltivato all'ombra, con tencha dalle foglie morbide di un verde-bluastro. Prodotto dalla famiglia Nishide, dove tre generazioni lavorano fianco a fianco, e lentamente macinato a pietra in casa. Il risultato è un matcha liscio e vellutato con note di chawanmushi (crema salata all'uovo), biscotto alla mandorla e pralina di nocciole.
