Gekkou, que significa luar, é um matcha de sombra, com folhas tencha macias e verde-azuladas. Foi produzido pela família Nishide, onde três gerações trabalham lado a lado, e moído lentamente em pedra na própria casa. O resultado é um matcha suave e sedoso com notas de chawanmushi (creme de ovo salgado), biscoito de amêndoa e praliné de avelã.
