Fondly named after the roaster’s charming hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, this robust roast is a blend of washed coffees from Cajamarca, Peru, and Papua New Guinea's Kolum Opints and Wet Mill, located in the Banz area of the Waghi Valley.

We tasted nutty notes of almond, sorghum, and chocolate.

The bag arrived with a strong, almost smoky aroma that filled the kitchen before I even opened it—exactly what I want from a darker roast. Brewed a mug this morning and it held up beautifully against milk, with a smooth finish that didn't turn bitter. Definitely my new go-to for a bold cup without the harshness.

First sip and I knew this wasn't some thin, watery roast—there's an actual body to it that coats your tongue, with a hint of cocoa that lingers. I've been drinking it black for a week now and haven't gotten bored once.

What woke me up this morning was the bright, wine-like acidity cutting through the dark roast—totally unexpected for that level of bean, and it makes a perfect morning cup. The body is thick enough to stand up to milk, but it doesn't lose any of the subtle fruit notes.

I was a bit skeptical of a blend from two very different origins, but the balance here is perfect—smooth with a subtle, earthy finish that I haven't found in other dark roasts. Really wakes you up without any bitterness.

This bag has been my go-to morning brew for the last two weeks; the Peru and Papua New Guinea blend gives it a rich, smoky flavor without any bitterness. I love that it’s a robust roast but still smooth enough to drink black.

Finally, a darker roast that isn't just burnt tasting — there's a real depth from the Peruvian and Papua New Guinea beans. The chocolatey notes come through nicely in my French press.
