코케 세척장은 게데오 지역(Gedeo Zone)의 이르가체프(Yirgacheffe) 지구에 위치한 마을 이름을 따서 명명되었습니다. 2011년에 설립된 이 가족 소유의 세척장은 해발 1800m 이상에 자리잡고 있으며, 이번 수확에 체리를 공급한 96명의 소규모 농부들에 의해 운영되고 있습니다.
이 워시드 공법은 홍차, 황설탕, 핵과류, 감귤류의 깔끔하고 밝은 노트를 살려내어 깔끔한 바디감의 한 잔을 만들어냅니다.
I’m a sucker for high-altitude coffees, and this batch from over 1800 MASL really delivers that bright, clean Yirgacheffe character. The fact that it’s family-owned and has been running since 2011 gives me a bit of comfort knowing who’s behind the beans. Definitely my new go-to for pour-overs.
Ever since I brewed a batch from this lot, I've been chasing that same bright, floral cup. The fact that it's grown at over 1800 MASL in Yirgacheffe really shows in the clean, tea-like body. My only regret is not buying twice as much.
The altitude really comes through in the cup—this Yirgacheffe lot has that clean, floral brightness I've been chasing, and it’s consistent every time I brew it. Knowing it’s from a family-run station since 2011 just makes it feel more special.
